Lafittes Blacksmith Shop Bar

This was one of the coolest bars in New Orleans.  It is located on the corner of Bourbon Street and St Philip Street.  Lafittes is a historical landmark, and you can feel the history when you walk into Lafittes.  If only the walls could talk.

I felt like I walked back into the past as soon as I walked in.  When I walked into the bathroom, I felt like someone was in there with me.  No one mentioned that the place is haunted, but you can feel the presence of others.

The fireplace was incredible.  The walls were made of stone and wood.  I wish you could get the feel of the place through pictures.  The building has been there since at least 1732.

If you are in New Orleans this is a must stop at.  Make sure you talk with the locals and the bartenders.  They know the history of Lafittes and the surrounding area.  When I head back to New Orleans, I will definitely stop in again.
