Badlands
Every year people from all over the world come to visit the Badlands National Park. There are several scenic lookouts and each one deserves a stop at. Plan on spending at least an hour in the badlands but to really take it all in, plan on spending a few hours. The rock formations, colors, steep canyons, and towering spires will leave you amazed. Take your time and hike on several of the trails. Make sure you follow all the rules and obey the signs. One wrong step can leave you seriously injured.
Ancient horses and rhinos use to roam the park. Nowadays, it is normal to see bison, bighorn, sheep, and prairie dogs.
When visiting the park try to go when the temperatures are a little cooler out. The sun gets hot when you are walking on and around the rocks and boulders. Make sure you have lots of water, you will need it. I have visited this park a few times. Twice in August and once in June. June was a lot cooler, and the kids really enjoyed their time more in the cooler weather.
