Chapel on the Rock at Camp St. Malo
The chapel is almost a 100 old functioning Catholic Archdiocese of Denver. The chapel’s official name is St. Catherine of Siena Chapel.
For 20 years the Monsignor Joseph Bosetti struggled to build the church. The land was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Malo, after whom the church was named. Construction finished in 1936 and in 1999 was officially designated a historical landmark. Over the years there have been fires, landslides, and other natural disasters all around the surrounding area, but the chapel was always spared.
The church is located approximately 12 miles south of Estes Park. It is open 7 days a week from 10-4 and mass is held every Friday at 8:30 am.
Whether you are a religious person or not this is a worthwhile stop. The church is beautiful and rustic. You will experience a sense of calm when at the church.
