Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher are breathtaking.  I waited a couple of decades to make it there and they did not disappoint.

On the day that we went it was so windy.  At times you had to grab on to the rock fence, so you didn’t get blown down the stairs. There were a few people that were blown over by the wind.  Thankfully they were not on the stairs when it happened.  We walk around when the wind died down or ended and stopped when it started up again.  The wind did not put a damper on the beauty of the Cliffs of Moher.

Make sure you take some time and walk through the building and learn about the history of the Cliffs of Moher.  If you are lucky there will be a group of school kids that sing for you.

When you visit the Cliffs of Moher, make sure you have a winter hat, gloves, warm jacket, and a raincoat/poncho.  You never know what the weather will be like, and it changes rather quickly.  In the hour we were there the wind was always blowing, it was sunny and then started down pouring as we were headed into the visitors’ building.

Make sure you stay on the pathways and wander off the pathway and get close to the edge of the cliffs.  When the wind comes up, you don’t want to be close to the edge.
